Make your own Orangecello

Women's Heritage

This Orangecello recipe adds wintery spices to create the perfect holiday drink. Serve at your holiday party or wrap it up to give as a gift.

  • 1 bottle 80 proof vodka
  • 6-7 peel of 6-7 oranges (no pith)
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice berries
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water

  1. Pour one bottle of 80 proof vodka into a large vessel that can be sealed. Peel 6-7 oranges being careful not to include the pith (it makes it too bitter).

  2. Add whole spices and seal vessel.

  3. Let sit in a cool dry place away from the sun for two weeks (can go longer if you want flavor to mature more. Strain the mixture.

  4. Make a simple syrup by heating two cups of sugar and two cups of water until sugar has completely dissolved.

  5. Add 1 cup of simple syrup or more (if you like your drink sweeter) to taste to the orangecello. Chill for at least 3 hours and serve!

Cheers! Emma
