This Orangecello recipe adds wintery spices to create the perfect holiday drink. Serve at your holiday party or wrap it up to give as a gift.
- 1 bottle 80 proof vodka
- 6-7 peel of 6-7 oranges (no pith)
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice berries
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
Pour one bottle of 80 proof vodka into a large vessel that can be sealed. Peel 6-7 oranges being careful not to include the pith (it makes it too bitter).
Add whole spices and seal vessel.
Let sit in a cool dry place away from the sun for two weeks (can go longer if you want flavor to mature more. Strain the mixture.
Make a simple syrup by heating two cups of sugar and two cups of water until sugar has completely dissolved.
- Add 1 cup of simple syrup or more (if you like your drink sweeter) to taste to the orangecello. Chill for at least 3 hours and serve!
